Olympia takes its name from Mount Olympus.
They were said to live on Mount Olympus. Mount Olympus is an actual mountain range, located in Greece. The mount was described in The Iliad. Twelve of the major gods were said to have lived here, Hera, Hestia, Demeter, Poseidon, Athena, Apollo, Artemis, Hermes, Aphrodite and Hephaestus. Their palaces were located in the gorges. Other Greek characters also lived here, such as the nine Muses. Mount Olympus still goes by the same name, and in modern times is the first national park of Greece.
