You do have to take the steering column loose and drop it down so you can get your hand up to the small clip that holds the brake booster rod off. But you do not have to take it all the way out. Just drop it down.
check your glovebow drop down panel.
follow the steering colum down under the dash, there should be four (4) twist locks & then the panel will drop down allowing access to fuse panel. Hope this helps
inside glove box there are two white tabs that u turn then the fuse panel will drop down
Drop the steering column down to get it out of the way. There is a removable panel at the front and just below the steering column. Remove the panel and the bolt that holds the metal band around the column itself. Go down to where the column and the firewll meet and remove the band that holds the column there as well. drop the column but no need to remove it any farther. Then go up to the outside beazel around your gauges and remove all of the serews holding that beazel in. All of these screws are on the front an not behind the dash so don't go crawling up from the bottom. When the beazel is loose slide it foreward slightly and remove the gauge panel from the back of the beazel. There are somepressed nuts you will need to remove to do this. Once done pull beazel out of the way and work on your gauge panel.
It isn't under there, it is under the hood, next to the battery, where it says power distribution box It is there indeed ya should notice it has a release on it that lets the fuse panel to drop down u may need a good flashlight for this. Take the access cover off an reach under the dash and release the clip system that lets it down. Easy easy easy

The signal and emergency flashers are located behind the plastic lower dash panel. Remove the few screws holding the panel and drop the panel down. You will see the flashers aprox above the transmission hump area.
Open trunk, remove the carpeted panel underneath the back window...should be 4 or 5 push in panel clips. This is where you either climb inside the trunk, or turn upside down from the outside of the trunk. This panel will drop down, and voila, there are your speakers.
