Crankcase breather tube.
on the valve cover as your faceing the car you will see a hose on the left side of the vavle cover. This hose goes to the intake plentum. the hose on the valve cover end goes to a connection that has a 19 mm nut screwed into the valve cover.loosen this nut remove the plastic cover and look in vavle cover. you will see the pcv vavle take a pair of needle nose and pull old pcv vavle out and replace.
its usually in the drivers side vavle cover. look for a 3/8 rubber hose going to the valve cover. the pcv vavle goes into a rubber grommet and usually comes out at 90 degree angle.
pull the pcv valve out of the vavle cover grommet, pull the hose off of it, put a new one in, put the hose back on, yay!!
PCV hose. Any quality neoprene hose that has similar dimensions will work.
Crankcase breather hose.
pvc vavle should be on the on the vavle cover i think i am not sure sorry On a 5.7 engine it is on the right side of the intake manifold the air intake might have to be removed pcv valve is located on the left side of engine there is a black insulated rubber hose running down the top side of the valve cover squeeze the hose until you find it you may have to slit the hose to change it
It is a hose that connects from the air filter to valve cover that stops contamenents from staying in the engine.
It is on the driver's side on the valve cover. it has a rubber hose going to it. you just pull it out and it(pcv) will be on the end of it. I just replaced mine for the first time and had trouble finding it myself. It could be on either engine valve cover, but it's the only hose that runs directly from the valve cover to the air filter/ throttle body. The filter is on the valve side of this hose.
You have to loosen the clamp on the hose that goes to the throttle body and pull it off to be able to get to the air filter. you can loosen the clam and rotate the hose up to allow the filter cover top move further. u dont have to remove hose
Look on the valve cover. There is a small hose running from the air filter cover to it.
For a 2002 MDX, there are four screws to remove the cover. Then remove the spring ring holding the intake hose. Remove the cover and replace the air filter. Replace the cover and screws and then reconnect the intake hose and spring ring.
The air filter on a 1997 Cavalier is located next to the battery. You need to remove four screws to open the top rectangular cover. The filter is inside upon opening this plastic cover. You will never miss it because the filter is located before the round air intake plastic corrugated hose (hose is about 3 inches in diameter and connected to the engine air intake) connected to this rectangular air filter cover.
