There were many different outcomes of the end of the Civil War, many or most of which resulted from the Battle of Gettysburg. But the outcome of the battle itself was that General Robert E. Lee (commander of the confederate forces) was defeated during his 2nd attempt at a decisive victory on Northern Soil.
