If switching the mounts around don't help, then the 88 motor must be from another casting. If you still want to use it you'd have to find a way of either modifying the part that bolts to the block, or move the part that's in the engine bay.

If I understand what you are referring to, the rubber spacer is part of the motor mount and cannot be replaced by itself. It is bonded to the metal of the motor mount.
