i need to know
There is no single planet called "Super Earth." Rather it is is a new class of planet; similar to Earth in structure and composition, but larger. A number of super Earth planets have been discovered orbiting other stars. Note that such planets to not necessarily have surface conditions like those on Earth, but simply have rocky surfaces.
At least 28 planets were found in 2008, all of them exoplanets (i.e. planets oribiting stars other than the Sun). Exoplanets are generally named as follows: Technical star name + lower case letter denoting the order in which the planets are discovered around that star (starting with "b" because "A" stands for the star itself). For instance 51 Pegasi b means the first planet discovered orbiting the star 51 Pegasi.
It is very simple to make a look on the game "Movie Star Planet". First, you will need to Movietown. Once you are there, click on "New Look". Finally, you will need to name your new look.
Currently scientists are finding many new planets every year orbiting other stars.
A new Earth like planet Kepler 22-b was discovered in 2009 but only recently confirmed as a planet. Its made big news as it is thought to be around 2.4 times the size to Earth and orbits a star that is similar to our own star (the sun) around 600 light years away. More importantly though, it is in the habitable zone, orbiting just the right distance from its star to allow for water to occur in liquid form - essential for life as we know it. There is a lot that we don't know about it as it is so far away, we don't even know what its atmosphere is like or even if it has one, which is also essential to life.
No. A supernova is star that is exploding. If any planets are orbiting a star that explodes, they will be destroyed. There is evidence that after a supernova new planets may form from the debris cloud left behind and orbit the stellar remnant, which will be either a neutron star or a black hole depending on the mass of the star that exploded..
what is the greatest
No new gas giant planet has been discovered in our solar system.
William Herschel decided to name Uranus Georgium Sidus (George's Star), or the "Georgian Planet" in honour of his new patron, King George III
No new planets have been found near our Sun. The latest discovery is a planet twice the size of Jupiter called Wasp 17. It lies about 1,000 light years from us. See related link for more information
Gliese 876, or sometimes called just 'Gliese'. A new planet was recently found orbiting this red star in the constellation Aquarius with the mass seven times that of the Earth. See the related link for more information.
