The British Isles is a group of Islands off the North West coast of Europe.

There are two large islands - Great Britain, which contains England, Scotland and Wales, and the island of Ireland which contains The Republic of Ireland and the Province of Northern Ireland. There are also over 1000 small islands.

The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland includes England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland and most of the small islands.

It is often abbreviated as "Great Britain", "Britain", "The United Kingdom" or "The UK."

It is also often, incorrectly, referred to as "England."
