My weiner Dog Red just turned 19 in November and his brother just passed away a day before his 18th birthday. I am hoping Red can make it to 20 and make the Guiness Record book.

My mini doxie just had her 19th birthday October 23, 2012. As long as she's not suffering in any way, I hope to have a few more years with her. She is partially blind & can't hear well but other than that, she's fine. With this breed the spine is usually what kills them as the spine affects all their major organs. She's not arthritic, in fact, she has good muscle & bone tone. She can jump down but is fearful to do so as she has no depth perception but gone are the days of getting up stairs or on furniture. God bless all these little doggies!
At the moment we have a gs, that is around 16 and 6 months old. She gets bad during winter with her back legs, and finds it hard when she has to get up. But during warmer months she is just like a little puppy. She runs and plays with all our other dogs. We live on a farm so she always is trying to help with all the other animals we have on the farm. But she is a great dog :)
I have a German Shepherd by the name of Recon. His birth date is Nov. 4 1994. He plays with his nephew on a daily basis and has a good appetite. 18yrs and still going.
I have a miniature dachshund. He turned 17 on November 5, 2008.

Well.... on average a dachshund should live 12-15 it really depends on your dachshund.... if you take the best of care you can.... well... you might have your dachshund live longer who knows?! But most dachshunds live 12-15. I have a mini dachshund! he is speckled brown and he is white... VERY CUTE! He's a little over a year, super healthy. He's a roch back... kinda curved, makes them stronger.. but i have high hopes for long living!
