There were two 4.0 V6 engines that year. The Vin # will tell you which you have. The code E & X. On both the firing order is 1=4-2-5-3-6 and cylinder locations are Passenger side front to rear 1-2-3, Drivers side front to rear 4-5-6. Here is a diagram of the E engine: http://autorepair.about.com/library/firing_orders/bl-Ford-firing-98.htm Here is the X engine: http://autorepair.about.com/library/firing_orders/bl-fo-4611.htm
No - have you checked that it is firing on all cylinders - Sounds like the engine is mis firing or not firing on all cylinders.
Do your headlights work ? or if you have the drivers door open with the keys in the ignition do you hear the key warning chime ? If not , it sounds like a dead battery or a loose / or corroded battery cable
Does your underhood light come on ? or if you have the drivers door open with the key in the ignition do you hear the chime ? If not it sounds like a poor battery cable connection or a dead battery
Sounds like the caliber on the drivers' side needs rebuilding.
sounds like someone is ready for that $600 tuneup
sounds like the fuel pressure regulator is broke
yes
sounds like coil pack issue
Does the underhood light come on when you put the hood up or if you have the keys in the ignition and the drivers door open do you hear the chime ? If not it sounds like either a poor battery cable connection or a weak ( almost dead ) battery

Sounds like you have a bad misfire and are running on less than all cylinders. Check that all cylinders are getting a good spark if petrol.
Well I don't know what you mean by, "Panic Sounds" Could you be a little more specific.
