The SAT isn't a Pass/Fail type of test. It is a general ranking of the person taking the test compared to all of the others that take the test. Some colleges have set minimums for what they will consider for admissions, but they also take other factors into account.

It is a college entrance exam that is used to determine a students ability to use skills that they should have learned in high school at entry level college classes. Each college has different requirements for what they deem to be "passing." Check on your college of choice's web page or call the admissions office for information on admissions requirements.
