Entamoeba Histolytica is a parasitic infection of the large intestine causing watery diarrhea or dysentery. Shigellosis is a bacteria that can also cause dysentery. Katayama Syndrome can cause similar symptoms and is caused by Schistosomiasis (five related species of blood flukes).
