Yes, this is too easy to answer since, unfortunately I have that violation on my record. Basically it's not a felony or a misdemeanor. It's a violation, like a ticket. You will in WORST cases have to pay a fine of a few hundred dollars (at the most) and then you would have to sign a restraining order and/or have to take a class on anger management or domestic violence. Just don't break the restraining order and you'll be fine - but by that time would will probably never ever want anything to do with the plaintiff ever again in your lifetime anyway. You most likely won't go to jail, but if you do, you will be there at the absolute max of 15 days. Thank your lucky stars that this is all you got charged with and move on with your life.
