"veto' is the term term referring to the presidents power to reject legislation passed by Congress. The term is Latin for " I forbid". It does does not appear in the Constitution. If the President disagrees with legislation, he has 10 days to send it back with his objections. They must pass it again with a two-thirds majority (called overriding the veto), or else its dies. They could also take his objections into consideration and pass a new version which he might agree to.
This would probably require a Constitutional amendment.
