On a 40 year old car it depends on Condition, Condition, Condition. It also depends on what the market will bear. The value of this car is basically what someone will pay. Most valuable is a Convertible, followed by a 2 dr. hardtop, then a 2dr sedan, and the least valuable is a 4dr sedan. Color & transmission are also very important. If you have a red, convertible or 2 dr hardtop with 396 & factory 4 speed, that is in great condition with low mileage you have a valuable car. You need to do some serious research. Search Barret & Jackson Auctions, and www.nada.com. Do not sell it too cheap, but do not attempt to sell it for more than it is worth. Condition is the most important thing.
A caprice of same body style is always worth more than an Impala, provided it has the same features. IMPALA SS and SS 427 are worth more than Caprice though.
Alphonse 'Big Boy' Caprice was created in 1931.
