Tail light fuse is blown. It also feeds the 5 amp dash light fuse.
Also check for shorts causing the fuse to blow including the license plate light.
I have that same problem with a 2001 tacoma no power rear tail lights brake light works and nothing for dash lights i need answers i am stumped Any real answers to this please???
Replace the headlihgt switch, it's a common problem
CHECK THE FUSE PANEL DASH & TAIL LIGHTS WORK FROM SAME FUSE
I had this problem with a '92 Saturn and it was because i blew a fuse. I am not sure which fuse it was as it was about 6 yrs ago, but you should check your fuses and see if any are blown. I know it sounds rediculous that the tail running lights and the dash lights are connected by the same fuse. Sorry I cannot give you a more detailed answer
A short in the tail light circuit. Brake and turn are on another circuit. Dash light power is fed from the tail light fuse to the dimmer switch and on to the dash lights. Look for a short in the tail light wiring circuit. Also check the license plate light for a short as it is on the tail light circuit also. Had a car with blown fuse, traced the circuit for tail lights and found nothing. Jumped the fuse and burned out the wiring to the tail lights. Come to find out, the short was in the license plate light. Also a bad headlight switch can cause this. Both tail light circuit and headlight circuit go through the switch. Contacts for the tail lights may be bad (defective switch common).
how do you fix your lighting problem with your 94 chevy cavalier z24 you haveno tail lights dash lights or parking lights
You may have a burnt out bulb that is causing your tail lights and dash board lights to not come on in your 1992 Bonneville. It can also be a blown fuse that is causing your problem.
Check the fuse or switch.
Changing dash panel lights 1995 Mercury sable how do I do it
If you installed a trailer light set up you should go back and verify the connection or remove it to see it the problem goes away. I have had the same problem with other vehicles and yes the dash light are tied in with the tail lights.
In the fuse box, on the left, by the firewall.
you have a wiring problem with either the dash lights, the headlight switch, the tail lights or the front clearance lights. If you've had an accident that has caused damage to any of those areas, check that first.
Yes, your tail lights will go out when your dash board lights go out.
try a test light on both sides of the fuse, tail and dash lights are on the same circuit
I have same problem have you figured it out yet?
I have a 1991 Chevy surburan and it has no tail lights and no dash lights, all fuses are good
Every vehicle that I've experienced this problem in was due to the tail light fuse being burned out. This condition is because the tail lights and dash lights share a common fuse, which makes the dash lights act as an indicator as to whether or not your tail lights are working (although, this doesn't indicate whether the bulbs are good or not).
