A small amount of carbon dioxide is all it takes to keep the earth comfortably warm for millions of years. A small increase in the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is all it takes to cause global warming and threaten the future of the human race.

How does the owner of a factory which uses coal solve the problem of sending more carbon dioxide CO2 . Into the atmosphere?

how does the owner of a factory which uses coal, solve the problem of sending more dioxide.Into the atmosphere

How can biofuel production increase carbon dioxide levels?

Biofuel production does not increase carbon dioxide levels. Biofuel comes from recently grown vegetation of many kinds. When the vegetation grew earlier in the season it took carbon dioxide out of the air. When the biofuel is extracted and burnt that same carbon dioxide is released into the air again. There is no increase of carbon dioxide. Biofuel is carbon neutral. This is the problem with fossil fuels, who took carbon from the air many millions of years ago. Suddenly releasing this now is adding to the greenhouse gas levels and causing global warming.

Why has deforestation become a global problem?

Deforestation has become a global problem because forest destruction is one of the main causes of global warming. Through photosynthesis, trees and plants remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, slowing global warming.

Is there any metal or gas which absorbs carbon dioxide and nitrogen gas?

Mother nature has a way of absorbing carbon dioxide. It's called rain. Rain water combines with carbon dioxide to make carbolic acid. The carbolic acid falls to the earth and combines with rock and dirt to make a soft rock. People down wind of large smokestacks have a problem with the acid rain. Too much acid rain will kill trees. Planet earth does not get enough rain to remove the increasing amounts of carbon dioxide we are putting into the atmosphere. The carbon dioxide we are making adds to the problem of global warming. I have wondered if putting water sprayers into our smokestacks will remove the carbon dioxide making acid water. That acid water can be mixed with soil to make soft rock. The soft rock can be used for landfill. Perhaps we can remove carbon dioxide in our smokestacks before it gets into our atmosphere in this way?

What are the shortfalls in the greenhouse model?

Greenhouse EffectThe greenhouse effect refers to the ability of some components of the atmosphere--primarily carbon dioxide--to absorb and trap heat. While too much heat is a problem--consequences being a change in weather and climate, and a rise in sea levels--the greenhouse effect is a necessary protector of life on Earth. It lets the atmosphere function like a blanket, allowing for temperatures hospitable to the planet's life. People exhale carbon dioxide and release it into the atmosphere when burning fossil fuels and plants. Plants absorb carbon dioxide as part of photosynthesis, keeping the carbon and releasing oxygen. The moon, which has no atmosphere, has an average temperature of 0 degrees Fahrenheit (-18 degrees Celsius).

Why is an increase in a gas that takes up a tiny part of the atmosphere a problem?

The problem is in what that gas does, or can do when left to accumulate in the atmosphere.

What has to reduce to solve the problem of global warming?

We have to reduce the emissions of carbon dioxide and methane, the greenhouse gases, into the atmosphere.

What environmental problem is caused by excess carbon dioxide in the atmosphere?

None that can be proven. While global warming effects an increase in atmospheric CO2, it is not correct to assume that an increase in CO2 will cause global warming; there are several other atmospheric gasses more warming than CO2, also on the rise.

How can you prevent co2 from entering the atmosphere?

from outside the atmosphere? there is no problem regarding that because space is a vacuum. BUT CO2 has already entered our atmosphere. As long as there are organisms that thrive through the process of respiration, you can't eliminate carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Even the earth itself releases carbon dioxide without the help of organisms. --- ANSWER: DEPENDS. ^_^

What are the problems with Carbon dioxide?

Due to large-scale burning of fossil fuels worldwide, the concentration of carbon dioxide in the athmosphere continues to increase. This enhances the natural 'greenhouse effect' of the athmosphere, causing global warming and climate change.

How is climate change a problem for the carbon cycle?

Global warming means there is extra carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. This is putting an extra strain on the carbon cycle, which is unable to remove all the extra carbon dioxide.

What is the conclusion of deforestation?

Deforestation is a serious problem for the world. It removes valuable trees that absorb carbon dioxide from the air and store the carbon. This extra carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is one of the reasons we have global warming.

Are green house gases more or less problem than carbon dioxide?

Carbon Dioxide IS a 'greenhouse gas' ! There are still too many coal-fired power stations that are releasing tons of CO2 into the atmosphere !

Which change in the atmosphere appears to contribute to global warning?

Large amounts of carbon dioxide (CO2) entering the atmosphere appears to contribute to global warming. One way humans contribute to this problem is by burning fossil fuels.

What problems occur when theres to much sulfur dioxide in the air?

The main problem with sulfur dioxide in atmosphere is the influence for acid rain. Sulfur dioxide molecules can react with rainwater to form sulfuric acid. Additionally, as sulfur dioxide is irritant to breathe, it may cause respiratory hazards too.
