you may melt sugar, by putting it on a shallow pot over low heat. Lets say you want to melt 2 cups.... you add aboout 2 spoonfulls, then ad about 2 spoonfulls of water. then u continue melting it slowly and be ready to use your patience skills.. LOL... but yeah, it will take a while then depending on whatyou need it for, you either just melt and dissolve it all or let it there till it boils and bubbles up!! gook luck

The exact melting point of sugar is still open to scientific discussion, however between 140 and 160 Celsius. It is said that sugar decomposes so that it melts at different temperatures depending on the heating rate. Sugar heated quickly melts at at higher temperature and slowly if heated slowly
