if you have good fuel pressure it will eliminate the fuel pump and or fuel pump relay. next i would guess it would be the i.c. modual. "ignition control modual" some people call it a distributor modual. it's inside the distributor. 170.00 at auto zone. goodluck,songwords "ignition control modual" is no longer in production very hard to find now.


Where is the thermostat located on a 1986 Nissan Stanza?

If you're talking about the Stanza Wagon with the EFI CA20E engine, the thermostat housing is on the left side of the engine as you're looking at it from the front. An easy way to locate it is to follow the main coolant hose from the top left side of the radiator back past the timing belt cover to where it attaches to the engine block. Where it attaches is kind of a curved metal housing with a wire attached, and two bolts. That's the thermostat housing. The wire is the temp sender that goes to the temp guage on your dash. Like I said, I have an 86 Stanza Wagon, but if you have the CA20E engine, it should all be the same. Actually, most engines are set up in pretty much the same way, with the hose from the radiator leading right to thermostat on the engine block. As soon as your engine heats up, the thermpostate opens and allows the coolant to circulate through the block and then back to the radiator. With a little detective work, you should be able to locate the themostat no problem.

Not sure about your engine but on the 1.6L the starter motor is mounted to the "front" of the trans axle up against the firewall side of the engine and the top bolt for the starter motor is reached from the top back side of the transmission bell housing. Looks like a bolt that would hold the transmission to the engine block. The "give away" is that there is another bolt next to it that does hold the transmission to the block.

turbo charge the CA20E that's in it... use a turbo from another Nissan custom zorst manifold and intake pipes. oil lines from oil pressure sender on bottom right of block, drill a return into the side of the sump soften the spring in the air flow meter by adjusting it with the adjuster screw add fuel pressure by hammering down the top of the fuel pressure regulator this setup will support 5-7 psi fine and could hold 10 psi depending on turbo. expect an extra 20-35 KW from the above and budget $1000 if you do the work ur self... don't bother unless u do it yourself. other wise swapping in a CA18DET is relatively easy and will bolt up to your auto box will net you about 50+ kw extra, there are guides on the net mostly for manual but its the same thing. wiring is fairly straight forward and is the hardest part of the conversion heater hoses are not essential in warmer climates but in colder climates they are a must and they need to be custom made from other random heater hoses, there is no off-the-shelf hose to fit.
