Actually, Adam (assuming we're speaking of the first Adam) was not born, God created him using the dust of the earth he had created a few days earlier. And i dont know about what 'is' the purpose of Adam, but the purpose 'was', to name all living things(plants, animals, etc.), to worchip his creator God, and of course he was suppose to increase the human population. Just think of Adam as our founding father.
The philosophy of Judaism is that this world is a purposeful creation by God, in which all people are tested concerning their use of free-will. This held true for Adam as well. We possess a soul which lives on after the body dies and is held responsible for the person's actions. Anyone who is worthy can merit reward in the afterlife.
The world is not chaotic or the result of chance. Life is the work of a deliberate, purposeful, intelligent and kind Creator; not a melancholy chaos or a string of fortuitous accidents. God should be at the center of reality and the center of our world-outlook and thoughts.
The Bible says god came every evening to meet Adam , as he was created in gods own shape.
According to Adam Smith, "consumption is the sole end and purpose of all production."
for sexual purpose
If God had chosen Adam to fulfill His purpose and stay alone then that would have happened, however, that was not God's plan or purpose for Adam. God's plan was for Adam to have a wife and to populate the earth as God told them to do. God could have created only one human if that was His will, but His plan was for them to create the first family and thereby descendants. All the animals had a mate and He did not want Adam to be alone or lonely.
Solomon Chandler purpose in this book is to influence Adam to be a better person and is teaching him some important responsibilites. He is just acting like a father to Adam since his father, Moses, had passed away in battle and Adam is very sad about it. Adam and Moses did not have a great relationship in the beginning but in the end his relationship was very tight with his father.
to give us love, hope and faith in Him Edit: God once said to Adam and Eve to go forth and multiply, so the purpose for children was to populate the world with purity, but that was until Adam and Eve both turned against God.
God made a special mist for that purpose (Genesis ch.2). After Adam was created, the normal cycle of rain began: after Adam prayed for it (Talmud, Ketubot 5a).
Adam is finally willing to leave Eden because he chooses to accept God's plan for humanity, including the consequences of his and Eve's actions. He understands that they must leave Eden in order to fulfill God's greater purpose for them and their descendants. Adam's decision to leave Eden signifies his newfound maturity and acceptance of his responsibility.
