to keep exauste heat off of surrounding parts and in some vehicles for the o2 sensor to read correct temp
the ticking noise is a small exhaust leak close to the exhaust headers or exhaust pipe near the engine.
you could have a small hole in your exhaust between your engine and your muffler....you can patch the exhaust or replace your exhaust
From the intake, yes. From the exhaust, unlikely.
The average aircraft will have temperature gauges for the following: Outside air temperature, Engine air inlet temperature, Engine exhaust temperature, cabin temperature, and that's just on a small aircraft. So which temperature gauge do you mean?
if a small amount of water is dripping it is normal condensation from running an engine
Exhaust gas recirculation. The egr meters a small amount of exhaust gas back into the engine. This gas lowers the combustion temperature which lower the a mount of oxides of nitrogen in the exhaust.
Yes. The exhaust will be different, and if it's a big engine going in and a small engine coming out, you might need a bigger radiator.
take off the gray cover on the engine and look on left side of engine on top. it has small studs with nuts holding it on, not bolts. it should also have a rusty looking tube as its connected to the exhaust and a wire connector on top. very easy to get too...
With the possible exception of some very early small block heads that had offset valve cover bolts, yes, it will all fit the 283 engine.
Yes, a prolonged exhaust leak will eventually cause problems with your cylinder head. The leaking exhaust is very hot and you can cause small cracks in the head if you don't repair the problem promptly. If you can hear the exhaust leaking, it may already be too late! Get it checked out soon!
It has 8 intakes and 8 exhaust if it's a V-8 engine.
The oxygen sensor on the 1988 ford 2.9 liter engine is located on the exhaust pipe just behind the right exhaust manifold. It screws into the exhaust pipe and has a small wire running to the tip of it. Just unplug the wire and turn out the sensor with a wrench.
