to carry the electricity from the coil pack to the spark plugs
It actually depends on the engine. But if it has HT LEADS (High Tension) Follow these from the distributor or electronic ignition unit and there are the plugs in the manifold of the engine
Good. They are not supposed to.
lambo sensor - cat issues - over fueling - ht leads break in the vacuum system
to test ht lead with out taking it out of coil pack. All you have to do is remove the 1 cylinder ht lead and pull the cylinder 5 ht lead out aswell and measure the resistance with multi meter. so now it will give you the reading. so its 1,5---2,6---3,4 ht leads.
4, you can always find this out for any car by having a look under the bonnet and counting the HT leads! *NB - HT leads are the leads from your coil pack which disappear into the engine, which provide power to the spark plugs.
They are attached to the end of the HT leads.
Engine won't start
first check your battery if alright check your spark plugs check them for loose or damaged electroids and there colour then check your ht leads (plug leads) then the distributer cap and rotor arm for burn marks and excessive wear check the alternator and belt then the coil and ignition module
Voltage transformer or potential Transformers are used in conjunction with Current transformers for metering and protection purpose in HT and LT power system.
i am confused i have a 1.25 ford fiesta and i have brought new spark plugs and h t leads and it is misfireing but the ht leads are in the correct order i think 1342 just wondered if any one could help me please !
its a ignition coil which changes 12 volts of battery to a several thousands volts which is required for spark plug to create an ignition.
