The blend door blends the hot air with the cold air to produce the temperature you have selected on the temp control switch.
There are usually only 1 blend door on a truck. This also goes for a 2005 Chevrolet Sliverado.
No, it is electric
Behind the dash assembly, mounted to the HVAC assembly. The dash assembly must be partially removed to gain access to the blend door actuator.
Are you sure its not a "blend door" actuator? Belnd door actuators are part of the HVAC system and control the hot/coldair flaps.
The temperature blend door and actuator is located in the HVAC box which is located behind the dash assembly. The dash assembly must be removed to gain access to the temp blend door actuator for replacement.
It could be low on coolant, A stuck open thermostat, A broken/stuck blend door actuator.
Have you checked your suction lines.
Its located on the left side of the evaporator housing inside the truck behind the heater core shield...................
Assuming you want it to blow hot air, you may be low on coolant or have a stuck open thermostat or a plugged heater core or you have a faulty temperature blend door actuator.
Could be a bad actuator switch which operates the door flap, therefore allowing air to constantly pass across the heater core, hot into the cab. The actuator is located behind the blower motor, which is under the glovebox.
The temp blend door actuator is probably broken. The entire dash assembly needs to be removed to gain access to the actuator. This is a fairly large job. I would recommend purchasing a shop manual for that vehicle to guide you through the job if you intend on repairing it yourself.
Hey the actuator is on the top side of the front right axle.
