Sure you could replace it or rebuild it, but you're better off buying a new starter and getting the core fee back ;)

On top of the starter. Disconnect the negative ground to the battery, get under and pull the two starter bolts, back the starter out of the bellhousing to get to the two wires on the solenoid. Be careful: the starter is heavy, and will swing toward the pan rail on the engine block. It takes a year for a thumbnail to grow back.

The fusable link should be located at the starter connection on the solenoid. Where the main positive cable hooks to the starter solenoid there should also be a smaller wire connected on the same terminal. The smaller wire will be the fusable link. Make sure to disconnect the battery before attempting to remove the nut from the solenoid terminal.

Engine seized? Dead or weak battery? Loose or corroded battery cables? Bad starter solenoid? Bad starter? Bad neutral safety switch? Bad ignition switch?

Disconnect battery. Crawl underneath truck & look for the starter under the motor, against the oilpan, at the back of the motor. Disconnect wires on the side of the starter (solenoid). Remove 2 mounting bolts at the bottom of the starter. Be very careful. This starter is very heavy and very expensive.
