they thought it had fresh water. Lastly the water near
the shore was deep enough for the ships to dock there.
The food wasn't so good but when you grow it to eat
it is called SELF SUSTAINING AGRICULTURE. Growing
to sell is called a cash crop. Women came to Jamestown in
1619. James town became a permanent settlement.
It is located on an peninsula with 3 sides. King James
gave out charters this gave the Jamestown colony
English rights. Later they had indentured servants
they would grow tobacco for 5-7 years. Jamestown
now has a representative democracy and has for a long time.
