#1. Most of the keys made out of soft alloys with Copper, Aluminum etc. Those alloys are not magnetic. But they are strong and light so you can carry in your packet not around your neck on the huge chain.

#2. Do you want to use electronics components in your car such as built in 30+ Gb media player? It is basically computer. What would happen if you place magnet next to your laptop? Correct, you will go to computer geek to restore your OS and, if lucky, your data files. That is why.

Why did Theodore of samos make keys?

Know one can really say for sure if he made keys or not (at least that's what my resources tell me), but I would assume that if he did make keys, then he made them with the intention of hiding something away, keeping something safe, or something of that sort. What are keys for? They are what lets you into places that were previously out of reach. They are what key safe secrets behind locks. So, in my opinion, if he made keys, he made them for the reason that we make them today; to protect something. But, that is an opinion. Hope it helped a little.
