I get that red triangle with the exclamation whenever I lose traction on the road...i guess its letting you know to drive slower or just be aware that you're losing traction....i also had that light come on for a few hrs when i my friends battery died and i gave her a boost.

That's your DSC (digital stability control). It's the traction control system. It comes on under hard acceleartion if your tires begin to spin and it slows down the speed of the drive wheels if slippage is sensed by the computer.
The circle with an exclamation point means you've turned off your DSC (Dynamic Spin Control.)
