No relationship there fleas are a pest and they thrive on the skin tissue of dogs and cats. Once on them it is a nuicance to remove, a flea bath is higly recommended as it kills all adults and larvae. aside from that these pesky bugs invade your house then you are going to require a pest control to come in and fumigate as these things JUMP, you are not going to be allowed into your house for a few hours. I don't know if this reaches the U.S. but flea bombs are commonly used so if you could go over the border but a couple same conditions apply you must keep windows shut and pending on the size of your house read the instructions carefully this is a less expensive than pest control company
Fleas Suck Dogs' Blood By Biting Its Skin. The flea is a parasite to the dog.
Dogs/fleas is an example of a Host/parasite relationship.
Parasitism
The relationship between dogs and their fleas is not symbiotic as the dog gains no benefit from it whatsoever. The relationship is purely parasitic.
It is a parasite - host relationship. The fleas as parasites living off of the dog as a host.
Fleas suck the dogs blood, and causes itch. The flea is a parasite to the dog.
parasitism
It's not a symbiotic relationship ! It's a parasitical relationship. In a symbiotic relationship - BOTH organisms benefit form each other. In a parasitical relationship - only ONE of the organisms benefits - usually to the detriment of the other. Fleas suck blood from dogs - which can make the dog ill. The dog gets no benefit.
I would say parasitism - host (dog) and parasite (flea).
An army of fleas attacked our dogs, explain it?
Some dogs can. Not all dogs.
Fleas make dogs suffer. They dont help one bit...
Fleas can transmit tapeworms to dogs, but not roundworms, hookworms or whipworms.
