Chevy Silverado. Two weeks ago I lost control on icy roads and slammed head-first into a concrete retaining wall. I walked away. no broken bones and nothing bleeding. This was in a 2004 Silverado 1500. Squarely and directly hit the wall at about 50-55 MPH. The truck was not even totalled, book value is 15,000 and the repairs were only 9800. According to the insurance company's formula, they will not total, it is being repaired right now. no major damage to frame, etc. The body shop owner, who has been doing this for 30 years, said he has seen hundreds of similar crashes in all vehicles. He said the Chevy Silverado is by far the safest vehicle to be in for a front or side collision, PERIOD. (He drives one for that reason). Sure, I was sore for a few days, but if I was able to walk away from that kind of an impact with no major injuries... then gas mileage be damned, I'm going to continue driving my Chevy truck. an extra 5 or 10 miles per gallon is not worth my life.

The safest car would be the Toyota Camry because it has a five star crash test rating. This is very good and may be what keeps you alive in an accident. Good job Chinese.
