Probably the coolant temperature sensor. That's what it is on an '86.
It is located under the thermostat housing with a single wire connection. And the upper radiator hose goes to the thermostat housing.
The sensor is threaded into the head to the left of the thermostat housing and has a single wire connector on it. Thanks Malcolm
It should be in the thermostat housing or right next to it a single wire normally right side or center on front of intake manifold.
The switch is screwed into a small coolant tube off of the thermostat housing that goes back to the heater core. The switch has a plastic clip over it, not to be confused with the single wire coming off of the ECT sensor which is also screwed into the same coolant tube.
e46 330ci? It is mounted to the front of the cylinder head. Right hand side at the bottom. The thermostat and the housing are sold as a single part.
It is located at the thermostat housing single wire plug and the upper radiator hose goes to the housing to keep it simple.
You most definately unpluged the sensor wire. It's a single red wired that plugs onto a sensor just passed the thermostat.
The guage sending unit is a very small single wire sensor located next to the thermostat housing. follow the upper radiator hose down behind the air compressor to the intake. it'll be next to that.
Rear of thermostat housing. Single green wire with white connector. Need 17mm to remove.
The temp sending unit should be found close to the thermostat housing. It will have a single wire attached to it.
overheating is most often the thermostat in the top radiator hose that needs replace. sometimes the fan may be defective or a sensor may need eplacing. Some silhouettes have two sensors. Start by replacing the inexpensive thermostat, if that doesn't work then jump the fan wire directly to the battery to see if the fan works. if the fan works connected directly to the battery, reconnect it how it should be and go after he sensors. one sensor is usually near the top driver side of the engine, the other may be far low and back drivers side. both are identifiable by the single wire coming out of the sensor in the coolant housing.
does a single person have to have an income to get public housing ?
