A Brazilian consulate is intended as a legal representative of Brazil in whatever country the consulate is hosted in. Consulates are intended to bolster diplomacy between the two countries and facilitates trade. Other responsibilities of the Brazilian consulate include representing Brazilian citizens in the host country and protecting their interests, such as in the case of a legal dispute, and also issuing visas.
