It is a wavy ellipse. Wavy because of the Moon. The ellipse is close to a circle, but the Earth is just a little closer to the Sun in the Northern Hemisphere's Winter.
All orbits are ellipses. The gravitational perturbations caused by the Moon causes VERY TINY ripples in the elliptical path; "wavy ellipse" may be overstating the case.
