The right hand is the hand of power (Psalms 118:16). To be seated next to the Father means He is on a par with the Father. He is neither standing nor kneeling before Him: He's seated at His right hand because His redemptive work is done. Apparently, the right hand is also the hand of favoritism and acceptance. The sheep are on His right hand; the goats are on the left (Matthew 25:33).

There are many scriptures which mention the right hand of God as being significant as I menton below taken from The Bible dictionary.

Gen. 13:9 if thou depart to the r.h.

Ex. 15:6 thy r.h., O Lord, is become glorious in power ... hath dashed in pieces the enemy

Josh. 1:7 turn not from it to the r.h. or to the left

Ps. 16:8 (Acts 2:25) he is at my r.h.

Ps. 109:31 he shall stand at the r.h. of the poor

Ps. 110:1 (Matt. 22:44; Mark 12:36; Luke 20:42; Acts 2:34; Heb. 1:13) Sit thou at my r.h.

Ps. 118:16 r.h. of the Lord is exalted

Eccl. 10:2 wise man's heart is at his r.h.

Matt. 5:39 (3 Ne. 12:39) smite thee on thy r. cheek, turn

Matt. 6:3 (3 Ne. 13:3) let not thy left hand know what thy r.h. doeth

Matt. 20:21 (Mark 10:37) my two sons may sit, the one on thy r.h.

Matt. 25:33 sheep on his r.h., but the goats on the left

Matt. 26:64 (Mark 14:62; Luke 22:69; Moro. 9:26) Son of man sitting on the r.h. of power

Mark 16:19 Lord ... sat on the r.h. of God

Acts 2:33 being by the r.h. of God exalted

Acts 7:55 Jesus standing on the r.h. of God

The right side of Christ is where all of His sheep (Good people) will stand, whereas the goats (Not so good people) will stand on His left hand side. In some contries the left hand is considered to be unclean.

Additional Comment:

The symbolism of the Bible has the right hand/side as a position of strength or honor (see Exodus 15:6 and Psalm 110:1). It seems since 90% of people are right-handed, it is the preferred hand to use (Galatians 2:9). Or it may be due to the Hebrew language being 'limited' in its vocabulary like Greek or English, therefore using comparisons like 'right hand/left hand or love and hate speaking of Esau to better express thought to the reader. In any event, being on the left side or left hand is honorable - even if it is a bit less.

The only way a human being can come or be 'oriented' to Jesus Christ is by God drawing him, as Jesus said himself: "No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day."
