All Ford radios for the last 2 or 3 decades can easily be removed using the two special "U-shaped" wire tools. These are available from practically any auto parts store for maybe $3.00, more or less. Usually, the package includes instructions for their use. If not, then here;s how you use them
Many Ford models need to have the trim fascia removed before you can take the radio out. If yours is like this, then take off the fascia as required. Push the u-shaped removal tools into the two small holes on each side of the radio faceplate until you feel them"click" in place. Then, push the two tools outward while pulling on them. This will release the catches that hold the radio in, and allow the radio to slide out. You'll probably have to do a little bit of wiggling and tugging, but it will come out. when the radio is out, disconnect the electrical connectors and the antenna connector on the rear, and there you go!
