Metroid is about a girl named samus who was orphaned at an early age due to an attack by space pirates, led by Ridley, a pteradactyl-like creature. samus was the lone Survivor of the entire planet, and was taken in by an alien race known as the chozo, a birdlike alien race. samus then later became a bounty hunter, not for the fame and fortune, but because she swore the space pirates death.
