What is the edoplasmic reticulum?

Endoplasmic reticulum is found in the cells of eukaryotic organisms. Endoplasmic reticulum is a type of organelle. Endoplasmic reticulum has two different types smooth or rough.

What is the function of Rough endoplasmic reticulum in animal cell?

Endoplasmic reticulum is like a transport and manufacturing pipeline, for many biochemical compounds. Endoplasmic reticulum function is dependent on its type. There are three types of endoplasmic reticulum, which are:Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum (RER)Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum (SER)Sarcoplasmic Reticulum (SR)

What does the smooth endoplasm reticulum do for the cell?

A smooth endoplasmic reticulum can be used for transportation. I think there are more functions but I'm not sure what they are. Also, a rough endoplasmic reticulum is just like smooth endoplasmic reticulum except with ribosomes attached.

What functions primarily as an intercellular highway?

Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum

Why is endoplasmic reticulum nickname ER?

The endoplasmic reticulum is a network of tubules and flattened sacs that serve many functions in the cell. ER is an acronym from the first letters of each word. e- endoplasmic; r- reticulum.

What is the function of Endoplasmic in animal cells?

There are two types of endoplasmic reticulum in an animal cell. The rough endoplasmic reticulum is responsible for making proteins. The smooth endoplasmic reticulum is responsible for synthesizing steroids, phospholipids, and lipids.

Name the two kinds of endoplasmic reticulum?

Two types of Endoplasmic Reticuli exists, the rough endoplasmic reticulum and the smooth endoplasmic reticulum. The rough endoplasmic reticulum is involved in the synthesis of proteins -{from through}- VIA the ribosomes embedded within its structure. The smooth endoplasmic reticulum is involved in the synthesis of lipids and steroids.

What is the function of endoplasmic peticulum in animal cells?

There are two types of endoplasmic reticulum in an animal cell. The rough endoplasmic reticulum is responsible for making proteins. The smooth endoplasmic reticulum is responsible for synthesizing steroids, phospholipids, and lipids.

What makes up of two types rough and smooth each with its own function?

The smooth endoplasmic reticulum and the rough endoplasmic reticulum.

What is the organelle that synthesizes lipids?

It is the smooth ER. They also produce lysosmes and peroxisomes

Where can one view images of a smooth endoplasmic reticulum?

To view images of smooth endoplasmic reticulum one could look for biology books. Smooth endoplasmic reticulum has functions with the production in several metabolic processes, it is "smooth" because it is not studded with ribosomes.

What organelle functions as a pathway to ship proteins and is dotted with ribosomes?

Endoplasmic Reticulum!
