'Squid' is a nickname for submariners so it can mean you are a submarine sailor.

It is also thought a lot of myths about sea monsters originate from squids as they can grow to tremendous sizes and very little is known about them, they can also symbolise the mystery of the sea

Depends, did it have a cartoon figure and a sailor cap on???? Maybe it meant that the wearer was an old salt or a sailor in uncle sam's rowboat club..[navy] or if it was a photorealistic renedering say in an underwater piece, it could mean that the person was just partial to squids....Sometimes a squid is just a squid.............

Usually associated with someone in the navy; usually a smaller squid is used for naval personnel; a larger squid for insecure non-naval personnel
