There are different temperatures in different places in the coral reefs.
Coral reefs live in warm, shallow waters near the edge of land. Since they don't tend to live in waters colder than 18 degrees Celsius, coral reefs generally form in between 23 degrees north latitude and 23 degrees south latitude.
In general though, most reefs are between 74F and 84F.
79 degrees is the happy medium. it always very's, but this is the best temp to keep any tank that is a reef tank. I own aquarium fanatics here in Orlando Florida, and I have done this for years. I am one of 4 salt water fish stores that are left here in Orlando, and I have a great deal of sucess!!!
Some shallow-water coral reefs can grow in temperate waters where the temperatures are not as warm as the tropical waters off the coasts of Australia, the Bahamas, etc. but even these cannot withstand temperatures under 81 degrees Fahrenheit (with the exception of some in the Persian Gulf). Most corals die when they get too cold as they are extremely sensitive and do not have the capability to warm themselves up. Deep-water coral reefs have adapted to withstand the cold temperatures of deeper waters and thus do not face this problem.
I found that it can't get under 18 degrees C. I guess the reef won't make it if it gets lower.
below 20 degrees
the coral reef is a marine aquatic biome
Coral Reef
The take hundreds of years to develop into a huge reef.
The one place I'm am thinking of that reminds me of a coral reef is Bryce Canyon National Park, so I would say a canyon/desert biome.
A coral REEF (the biome made of corals) shows no symmetry.
