Use straight 30wt oil with outside temperature of 40 degrees or more, or 10w30 multi- viscosity for the whole temperature range. However engine will consume more oil if 10w30 is used but is easier to start engine if temperature is below 40 degrees
10w30
The first number is the oil viscosity when the engine is cold, and the second number is when the engine reaches its operating temperature. 10w30 is more viscous, and 10w20 is generally used for motorcycles.

10W30 is. Correction... It really depends what you are asking. Actually at operating engine temp these two oils are identical. The 5W30 flows better in the cold than the 10W30 oil. The benefit of the 5W30 oil is its' ability to build oil pressure and protect the engine under cold operating conditions. Basically a 5W30 oil covers a wider range of temperatures than a 10W30 oil and is better suited for year round use where climates can shift from extreme colds to extreme highs.

It is a little thick. You should use sae30 or 10w30 (on cold temperature)
In a cold engine, 10w30 is heavier; however, in a warm engine, both should be the same weight - 30.
