The Ring of Fire is a circle of volcanoes that rings the Pacific Ocean. The volcanoes are particularly active and earthquakes are a common malady.
The ring of fire
The ring of fire refers to the circle of volcanoes along the coasts around the pacific ocean.
Ring of Fire.
They are located in a shape of a circle. This is because the Pacific Plate is circular (the Pacific Ocean is on it) and volcanoes form at plate boundaries. It is also called the Pacific Ring of Fire. However, the Pacific Ring of Fire is not entirely circular as it extends into the Philippines too.
The area encircling the Pacific Ocean is called the "Ring of Fire," because its edges mark a circle of high volcanic and seismic activity (earthquakes). Most of the active volcanoes on Earth are located on this circumference. On the periphery of the Pacific Ocean, the edge of the Pacific Continental Plate is expanding in the seabed, and is hitting the North American Plate, the Nazca Plate, the Eurasian Plate, and other plates, causing the margins of the plates to collide, buckle, and compress, causing earthquakes and volcanoes.
It is a whole area of volcanoes that form a "ring" around the Pacific Ocean. It doesnt form a sort of circle but they still call it a ring. Hope this helped :)
Merapi means Mountain of fire or Fire mountain. Mount Merapi is placed in Indonesia and is apart of the ring of fire which is a circle of active volcanoes around south-east Asia.
The 'Ring of Fire' is actually the edge of the Pacific Plate. It is called the 'Ring of Fire' because it is a ring lined with lots and lots of volcanoes. If what you mean by belt is a mostly straight line, then no, it is a deformed and distorted ring, with many volcanoes out of line, but shaped like a strange circle. The 'Ring of Fire' is not a belt of fire at all. The fire is supposed to be lava! The fire comes from the volcanoes... as you may know! In shorter words, it is a circle of volcanoes that line the Pacific Plate.
I think it is called The Ring of Fire! I might be wrong bit that is what i think it is. :-/
It is known as 'The Ring of Fire' sometimes called the circum-Pacific belt.
