∙ 13y agoThe duties of the jury foreman is to see to the proper and orderly running of the jury deliberations. The jury foreman is much like a chairman of an organization who runs the meeting. Some specific duties are deciding when votes are taken, ensuring that ever juror has a chance to voice an opinion without interruption from other jurors, communicating with the court after beginning deliberations (asking for more instruction or to see evidence or have transcripts read back, etc.). The foreman must also see to it that no improprieties in the deliberations occur and if so, he must stop them or notify the court of same.
