i think the 305 came with 180 horses
The 8th digit in the VIN is the engine code. For a Monte SS, it should be a "G" for the L69 305. I don't believe that engine was available in any other model of Monte Carlo.
Not likely since the 93 Caprice 305 was fuel-injected and the 86 Monte Carlo 305 was carbureted
Yes
It is important to gap the spark plugs at the right size. The spark plug gap for a 1981 305 Monte Carlo is .045 inches.
The Monte Carlo SS didn't have a 350 in 1987, but the 305 had 180 hp
no it would be carbureted, not fuel injected
Yes. The HO engine in the Monte Carlo SS had higher compression, bigger valves, and a different cam.
All 1984 Monte Carlo SSs had the 305 HO and 4-speed 200-4r transmission.

you have to buy the V8 motor mounts for your year Monte and bolt them in to fit the 305.
