Torque was released on 01/16/2004.
it depends on the engine for exact location, and number of O2 sensors, but on my 01 2.3l ranger there are 2, and they are easy to see. look for the exhaust manifold, and imagine you are traveling towards the back of the truck from the manifold. the first one is right past the manifold, and the second one is just a foot or two past that one. The one closest to the exhaust manifold can be seen from looking in the engine compartment. the second one you have to get under the truck to see. have fun getting them off....
They are slightly above the exhaust manifold with metal heat shields around them, but if you didn't already know that you shouldn't even have your hood open! So go to a mechanic!
Torque - film - was created on 2004-01-16.
NO, a 2.4 and a 2.2 are totally different engines. Take a look. On the 2.2 the exhaust manifold is in the front of the engine bay and on the rear of the engine bay on the 2.4......Under the hood it just ain't the same.
Bank 1 is the drivers side of the engine. #1 o2 sensor will be the first sensor that is in the exhaust pipe that's closest to the exhaust manifold on drivers side head.
You said 97 motor...Must be a 2.4L DOHC to go in the Z24 model, and the intake and exhaust manifold will have to stay with the 2001 model. Due to no EGR on the on the '01 intake and exhaust pipe flange is different on the '01.Everything else should plug right up. But on the trannies, compare the plug sockets, they have to be EXACTLY the same.AND I MEAN EXACTLY. If there is any difference it may not shift out correctly.
intake manifold leak due to rotten isolator bolts in the manifold plenum.
Just behind the throttlebody. on the top of the intake manifold.
It is located under the air intake manifold, its a pain to access.
118 ft pound
There are 2 of them on that engine and both of them are UNDERNEITH the intake manifold. You can't see them are service them until you remove the intake manifold.
