To replace the torque converter your going to have to take the transmission out of the car. It bolts to the flywheel on the engine. All you have to do is slide it off the shaft and put the other one on turning it and pushing in at the same time. You will feel when it slides all the way back on the shaft.
about 7-10 ft/lbs, do a star pattern its not super sensitive, but i would gently snug all bolts and tighten a bolt on one side then one on the other until all were tight.
If you mean the nuts holding the axle/bearing assembly, I believe they should be torqued to 230 foot-pounds, or one 160 pound person standing (not jumping) on the arm of the wrench 1.4375 feet from the center.
The spark plug torque spec range is between 6 and 10 ft/lbs.
save your self the trouble. possible machining may be needed. so i recommend you go with remanfactured transaxle with a warranty. been their done that ended going with remanfactured parts. recommend service manual chilton 8271 for torque specs on end nut when reassemble. i own 1992 tempo gl for 4yrs. seen it all mentioned on this blog has happen to me already.
no you will have to use a torque head bit and possibley a impact driver depending on how tight it is.
