I was looking at the 1997 Ford Expedition Owner Guide and it shows Motorcraft MERCON automatic transmission fluid for the two models of automatic transmission ( E4OD with the 5.4 liter ) I would also check to see if the type of fluid is engraved into the automatic transmission fluid dipstick
The 1994 Plymouth Duster transmission has a capacity of 12 quarts of fluid. The manufacturer recommends that the transmission is never overfill.
According to the 2003 Ford Expedition Owner Guide : For the 4R70W automatic transmission ( 13.1 liters / 13.9 quarts ) That of course would be for the entire system , converter , lines , etc.
