The turing test is a test to tell the difference between humans and computers. It works likes this: * A person (A) asks questions * Another person (B) answers * A computer (C) answers as well * If A can not tell which one (B or C) is the computer the computer has passed and is artificially intelligence, to find out more got to wikipedia.org and search for turing test.

Explain the Turing test to find out whether a machine is intelligent or not?

The Turing test is a test of a machine's ability to exhibit intelligent behaviour. In Turing's original illustrative example, a human judge engages in a natural language conversation with a human and a machine designed to generate performance indistinguishable from that of a human being. All participants are separated from one another. If the judge cannot reliably tell the machine from the human, the machine is said to have passed the test. The test does not check the ability to give the correct answer; it checks how closely the answer resembles typical human answers. The conversation is limited to a text-only channel such as a computer keyboard and screen so that the result is not dependent on the machine's ability to render words into audio.[2]The test was introduced by Alan Turing in his 1950 paper "Computing Machinery and Intelligence," which opens with the words: "I propose to consider the question, 'Can machines think?'" Since "thinking" is difficult to define, Turing chooses to "replace the question by another, which is closely related to it and is expressed in relatively unambiguous words."[3] Turing's new question is: "Are there imaginable digital computers which would do well in theimitation game?"[4] This question, Turing believed, is one that can actually be answered. In the remainder of the paper, he argued against all the major objections to the proposition that "machines can think".[5]In the years since 1950, the test has proven to be both highly influential and widely criticized, and it is an essential concept in the philosophy of artificial intelligence.[1][6]madhabsaikia@outlook.com

How do you measure artificial intelligence?

In the past the Turing test was used. During the test a human carried on a converstion through a typewriter with either another human or a machine and he wasn't told which it was. If he could make no distinction between human and machine it passed the test and was considered intelligent.

What is the last name of this mathematician a pioneer in computers and artificial intelligence Alan?

Turing

How is artificial intelligence measured?

There can be many ways, but the first you would study at college would be the "Turing Test" and most widely adopted in real-world applications is a CAPTCHA.Did not you see somewhere, filling a web form, a sentence like "Please write the code in the image below" close to a weird image? That was a CAPTCHA!Wikipedia link provided.

Is artificial intelligence a new science technology?

Hi All, Artificial intelligence, or AI, is a field of computer science that became established in the 1950s. Artificial intelligence is a software technology that duplicates human intelligence processes by computers, particularly computer systems. It is an area of computer science that may be used to create machines capable of doing jobs that normally need human intellect. Artificial intelligence provides a wide range of job profiles from which to pick. Furthermore, it is a very promising job with several applications in daily life. It is useful in the automobile business, entertainment industry, healthcare industry, education, finance, military, and cybersecurity. Many institutes provide Artificial Intelligence Training in Gurgaon and one can enroll in them to start a career in it. For More Information, Contact us at - +91-9711526942

What is the purpose of a Turing test?

The purpose of a Turing test is to determine a machine's ability to exhibit intelligent behavior that is indistinguishable from that of a human. It tests whether a machine can successfully imitate a human to the extent that another human interacting with it cannot differentiate between the two.

Who created the test that provided a foundation for Artificial Intelligence?

Alan Mathison Turing created the test for Artificial Intelligence known as the Turing Test.Turing Test helps in identifying/declaring whether a machine is intelligent or not.

How would you describe the Turing test?

The Turing test uses a human judge engaged in remote conversation with two parties: another human and a machine. If the judge cannot tell which party is the human, the machine passes the test.

Critisize turing criteria for computer software being intelligent?

Imagine two people, intelligent person A and thick person B. Both are Turing testing a machine. Person B, being thick, cannot tell that it is a machine. The Turing Test says that the machine is still thinking. Person A can see through it and can tell the difference between its responses and those of someone who is actually thinking. So the Turing Test says the machine is not thinking. So it is and it isn't thinking, a clear contradiction and thus the Turing Test cannot be correct.
