The Twinkiwalwah tribe is a Native American tribe said to have migrated from Western Siberia. Contrary to popular belief, they are not a tribe but a confederation consisting of the Jigabloux, Kykejewinah, Nigarah and Chinkoon tribes. They have a very intricate culture and religion. They worship many gods but acknowledge the existence of one main deity as well. Most however, converted to ether Christianity or Voodoo. Although they contributed much to innovations of approximately 12th century, only very cultured and intelligent people are aware of their presence. They populated the Northwestern United States originally but migrated South East towards the Kansas. They then settled there as they were one of the first to develop agriculture in the region. They were vital to both the French and Indian and American Revolutionary Wars, helping the Americans in both instances. Their language is known as Amêrza:ōmo and has a very complex alphabet with over 75 letters. These people were one of the few Native Americans to have a phonetic alphabet. The invention of the Twinkie is loosely based on a traditional dish of theirs called the Twinaka which was mistranslated as Twinkie to the ignorant white people. The mistranslation was also derived from the name of the confederation since it sounds similar to the treat.today they are only a few Twinkiwalwah remaining due to violence with white intruders, most with diluted blood with either whites or blacks. The few with pure blood are mostly Jigabloux. Most have been moved on reservations back where they came from in the Washington state area. Famous individuals from the confederation include, Dorõ-Lilo-żïo:Ono, meaning the Killer of the Black Mongoose. He was a great warrior who helped Washington's army during the Revolutionary War. Another member was We:ra-jusü Fekin-wich:u. This was the first man to propose diplomatic relations with the earliest white settles in the mid west. Unlike most Native societies, the Twinkiwalwah were neither matriarchal or patriarchal. In fact, both men and women were equal and individual tribe members were gender "neutral". Meaning men married men and women with women and occasionally men with animals. This has become a symbol of the modern gay rights movement and the confederation has seen new light with their history's introduction into American education.
