An application on the PDA, called GPS Catcher, can be used to download GPS data from the internet. The program can be set to automatically update GPS data when it expires, or when the PDA is connected to the PC via ActiveSync. I tested the GPS feature with Google Maps and it worked. Note that it takes a while to get the GPS fix.
