According to USA Coin Book: The type of dime that was minted in 1864 was the Seated Liberty dime with the Obverse Legend variety, which means they replaced the 13 stars on the front of the coin with the text: "United States of America". It was only minted in Philadelphia and San Francisco. Here are the values below for each mint:
Philadelphia (no mint mark): They minted only 11,470 coins, which makes it quite rare and it is worth about $215 in good condition. In MS60 mint condition, it is worth about $1,100 and in MS63 choice uncirculated grade, it is worth about $1,400. A choice proof coin of PR63 grade is worth about $800.
San Francisco (small "S" mint mark): They minted 230,000 coins, which is more common than the Philadelphia coins and it is worth about $30 in good condition. In MS60 mint condition, it is worth about $900 and in MS63 choice uncirculated grade, it is worth about $1215.
If it is a circulated dime, then it is worth about $1.00, mostly depending on the value of silver
