I suggest you post on John Stimson's luger site.
There was an early "American Eagle" Luger made that is very rare. But Mauser made a post War Luger "American Eagle" in the 1970's. ( The Mausers ) I found a website that had one listed for sale at $1395. Some forum discussion had the price at $600 - $800, which is probably a used condition. Older American Eagles come in two models, the DWM made model 1900 and model 1906; these are not years but manufacturing and collector designations. The 1900 has "dished" toggles while the 1906 has the toggles commonly seen on lugers of all ages. Both of these models have "grip safties". There are also American Eagles that are made later, but these are seen less often. There were about 1,000 AE's tested by the US Army around 1907 and eventually the army decided not to go with the luger, they were turned in and the lugers eventually sold through the Bannerman company. These are scarce and fairly expensive; read some good books before buying one.
@1900
Jan C. Still's Luger forums would be my suggestion on where to find out.
probably in the middle to the late 1900's
I need to know the coin's denomination (is it a quarter eagle, a half eagle, etc) and its mint state in order for me to relay to you its current value.
I believe you will find that the German Luger P08 went into production in the early 1900's. P08 basically refers to Pistol of 1908.The luger was used extensively during WW1 and WW2 by German forces.
If you mean a 1900 Morgan silver dollar, circulated coins are valued from $32.00-$39.00.
If it's dated 1900, then it's a Morgan silver dollar. It's worth at least $20 or so in worn condition, and closer to $40 in uncirculated condition. If you have a 1900-S Morgan, the value is a bit higher.
Mexican Eagle Petroleum Company was created in 1900.
WHAT DOES LUGER MEAN IN RELATION TO A GUN? it is a type of pistol made in Germany in the early 1900's and given the name 'luger' after the designer, George Luger. they are calibers 9mm and 30 cal, which has a bottle neck case. the 30 cal cannot be used in a 9mm nor can the 9mm be used in the 30 cal......................
