Have German luger American eagle on breach serial xxxx what is the value?

There was an early "American Eagle" Luger made that is very rare. But Mauser made a post War Luger "American Eagle" in the 1970's. ( The Mausers ) I found a website that had one listed for sale at $1395. Some forum discussion had the price at $600 - $800, which is probably a used condition.
Older American Eagles come in two models, the DWM made model 1900 and model 1906; these are not years but manufacturing and collector designations.
The 1900 has "dished" toggles while the 1906 has the toggles commonly seen on lugers of all ages. Both of these models have "grip safties".
There are also American Eagles that are made later, but these are seen less often.
There were about 1,000 AE's tested by the US Army around 1907 and eventually the army decided not to go with the luger, they were turned in and the lugers eventually sold through the Bannerman company. These are scarce and fairly expensive; read some good books before buying one.
